If EU research statistics are to be believed then becoming a member of a union gets further and further out of fashion every year in all but a few European nations. Many of the young people in the schools we visit have never heard of a union and they have no idea what a union does. It dawned on us a month or two ago that the term Christian Union therefore has no meaning for those who we would like to see attend. This problem is further perpetuated by the number of different groups happening in schools across the Wirral with different aims, objectives and methods all of which were loosely described as CU’s.

Wirral YFC are therefore rebranded, refocused and reinvigorated all ours CU’s with a new name and a new strategy which will better equip school pupils on one hand and the local church on the other.

The new name in CU’s is Pulse and there are three distinct streams – Pulse Outreach, Pulse Discipleship and Pulse Prayer.

It is important to make it clear that ‘Pulse’ isn’t just simply a trendy name a colorful new logo; it is a whole new strategic approach to CU’s which we hope will help churches engage in their local schools; help Christian young people have an effect on their school and allow young people to explore the Christian faith in new relevant ways.
